My "Message from the Universe" Today

If you can see it in your mind, Jeanette, it's real. And if you can consistently hold onto that image, if only when you visualize each day, the hard part is done.

All that remains is merging the two worlds together, the present and the one you've imagined, which is my part. And you can best help me align circumstances, coincidences, and chance encounters by getting busy, going out into the world, and moving in the general direction of your dreams, even if only to do what your peers might do, who know not of life's magic.

But you know the truth, Jeanette. You know how life works. Do not waiver in your march. No matter how humble your steps, this is how I will reach you. And as you witness one dream come true after another - first the small ones, then the big ones, then the huge ones - you'll remember why you were first drawn to the jungles of time and space... if you haven't already figured it out.

Crazy kid,
The Universe

The Ego and the Soul

Reprinted from Class 11 of the free online meditation course (highly recommended, i've been learning with it and growing in my meditation since January!) from Meditation Society of Australia--

The single most asked question we have come across is "how do I tell what are the messages of my ego and those of my soul?" To be true the ego and the soul have an existence within each other and so there is a measure of blurring between their realities but for the purposes of this class, let's separate them at their poles, so that we might more easily understand their nature and where they overlap.

What is the nature of the ego?

The ego is a construction of self arising entirely from externals. What the physical senses perceive, the intellect can calculate and memory can remember about us entirely composes the ego.

It is a differentiating mechanism constantly calculating how it is different from the next person or thing, and more than this it fervently seeks to place itself at least 1cm above its surrounds.Free Learn to Meditate - Meditation Society of Australia

As it defines itself by these externals, it also attaches and binds itself to them for its sense of self and fulfilment. For example, it is the ego that believes that having a shiny new car that is faster and more expensive than everyone else's in the street will contribute to it's sense of self and fulfilment, and it is the same ego that is disappointed five minutes after buying it with the realisation that somewhere else there is someone with a car that is shinier and faster and more expensive. This also applies to the way the ego interacts with other people. Social interactions become competitions because the ego needs to be at least 1cm above the next.

The ultimate goal of the ego is to be rich and famous possessing everyone and everything with all succumbing to it.

For the ego everything is conditional, everywhere a marketplace. "What I do for you is in exactly the same measure (or if I am smart(?), less!) than what you have already done for me. I will love you, if you love me etc. Nothing is given without an ulterior motive.

The ego is extremely defensive, to the death, in fact, of it's present state of mind, passionately fearing change and blaming everything but itself for any malaise.

The ego believes that it is the alpha and omega of you, a finite being with a birth and a death stuck in a fight with time and fate.

The soul is a revelation of the real self arising from within.

When someone speaks of 'finding oneself' they are usually speaking of a series of experiences of the soul. If it is that there is a force or universal soul or God that lies at the heart of every atom, then the individual soul is a portion of it. Though to speak of a portion of infinity is impossible and this is exactly the point, because this 'portion' is nothing other than, in fact, the whole. Each of us holds the kingdom of heaven within.

The sense of the soul is perceived by a suspension of the ego, an opening of the heart and an intuitive flow of love or peace or joy or wisdom will inevitably pervade.

The soul is a oneness understanding, joining not only humanity, but all things in the profound wisdom of love.

It enjoys competition as within a real family, to empower and encourage each other to higher and higher heights.

As the soul feels itself within all things it has no desire to bind or possess things to oneself. It feels that since we are all the oceans and the mountains and the skies and the flowers, how can there be ownership? We are all an infinite portion of each other.Free Learn to Meditate - Meditation Society of Australia

The ultimate goal of the soul is to divinise the ego. To flood all egos with the unconditional and infinite love and empowerment of the entire universe so that it might also perceive itself as many and separate, but One and whole.

For the soul, everything is a oneness-heaven where each of us contributes to the collective and each of us is empowered by it.

It constantly challenges our present state of mind when we limit ourselves to the ego by telling us 'You are not that! You are not the body, you are not the mind or ego, you are not finite and bound by time, you are infinite and eternal'

This is why the measure of a real spiritual person is their genuine humility. The higher one journeys the more one realises that the source, the power and the destination of the journey are the one universal soul or God. All we ever do is reveal this reality. Our ownership of even our actions should never be egoic but reveal the intuitive flow of wisdom and love of the universe.

The blurring

As we said in the beginning there is a definite blurring of realities of the soul and the ego. The ego is on a journey, just like every other part of our nature. from darkness to light, from ignorance to total awareness of the soul. It is meant to be an instrument of the soul, not in competition with it, and you will notice if you haven't already that gradually it will be illumined by the light of the soul and it's sense of itself will gradually enlarge until ultimately the divine ego, feels itself within all.

"We dance to a whispered voice. Overheard by the soul. Undertook by the heart.

And you may know it. If you may know it."
— Neil Diamond from Soundtrack for "Jonathan Livingston Seagull"

After all this - it is time for reflection

So now comes the time where instead of philosophising we observe what we are doing in our lives. How are our present day-to-day behaviours affected by this. Is it possible to live in the soul amidst the hurly-burly of modern life? The answer obviously, is a resounding YES!

To come back to our original question - 'How do I tell if the messages I am receiving are from my soul or my ego?' Well, especially in the beginning it is not so easy. We have spent such a long time ignoring the messages of our soul and listening entirely to our ego that the volume is very loud on our ego and perhaps just a whisper from our soul.

As everything, it requires practise.Free Learn to Meditate - Meditation Society of Australia

It also requires honesty and a large measure of bravery.

Honesty to just listen, not to return to the habits of the ego in constructing a voice that we want to hear, and bravery to follow the messages of the soul, that are often challenging (as they obviously should be!) and sometimes illogical from a worldly point of view.

If you are not immediately intuitively aware that the message you are receiving is from your soul, then try and stop everything and really explore it in a meditation. Messages of your soul, should immediately be accompanied by joy as their nature is the flow of love. (Emphasis mine.)

If you are still not sure than you need to consciously question the source of the voice, honestly checking its credentials against all the criteria above. You must also realise that exactly the same action can be performed egoically and again completely soulfully, so it is often not the action that needs to be critically contemplated but the place from where the action is performed.

Either way, if you are still not sure, try as soulfully as you can to take a step down the path that your 'voice' is extolling you to, and immediately stop and meditate and go through the process again, having taken one step. You will see that having gone through the above, you should definitely be feeling joy, if not, stop - it is most likely not a message of your heart.

7 Steps to Attracting Your Perfect Soulmate

from Tarot.com, my favorite oracles site : ) --

Step 1: Forgive the Past
Are you still obsessing about a past relationship that absorbs too much of your attention, or generates disappointment, anger, resentment and other negative emotions? You cannot be emotionally available as long as you are still living in the past. As hard as it is, you must get your closure and let the old, broken relationships go.

  • Stop talking about this person
  • Stop allowing yourself to be angry at this person
  • Stop listening to others who want to talk about this person with you
  • Stop feeling victimized over how you were treated
Wish your ex-boyfriend, ex-husband or ex-lover well and send him/her on their way to a better life. When you stop giving it your attention, you take your power back and stop letting this situation control you.

Step 2: Write a Wish List of Ideal Qualities
Be honest with yourself and list the ideal qualities you are looking for in a soul mate -- not what you feel you can "put up with." Use contrast to help you find the right qualities:

  • Dated a cheapskate in the past? Use that as inspiration to ask for what you really want: "My Perfect Mate is generous, giving and prosperous."
  • Had a problem with a cheater? Try this one: "My Perfect Mate is loyal and loving to me. He values me and supports me in every way possible."
  • Tend to attract married and unavailable? How about, "My Perfect Mate is single, available and ready for a long-term relationship".

Step 3: Eliminate Self-Sabotage
You may feel you are not ready for a new relationship because of your own fears and concerns. Or you may be thinking you will not find a perfect relationship at all. If this is the case, write down some "pre-affirmations":

  • "Give me the strength, understanding, patience and all other qualities I need to be the perfect partner."
  • "I radiate harmony, love, trust and friendship to all I meet."
  • "The Universe knows what I need in a perfect mate and is paving the way for the two of us to meet and recognize each other."

Step 4: Affirm and Visualize What You Want
Twice a day, morning and night, go over your list and recite it out loud. Feel the passion and desire as you read off the qualities you have accumulated. Visualize yourself and your new partner in a special place having a great time.

Step 5: Allow the Universe to Work Its Magic
The Universe will find the fastest, quickest and most direct way of bringing the two of you together. You need to trust that it is on the job and working behind the scenes, regardless of how things appear on the outside. When you meet this person, there will be no doubt for either of you.

Step 6: Express Your Gratitude
Be grateful for all the signs that the Universe is fulfilling your request for perfect love, whether it is someone at work inviting you to lunch or the pizza man flirting with you. You are drawing people to you, so take your time and wait for the right one.

Step 7: Be Vigilant, Be Persistent
After you meet this perfect person, be sure to keep up the affirmations. Change or update them, if you need to.

  • "All things between my perfect mate and myself are peaceful, compatible and harmonious."
  • "My Perfect Mate and I are the best of friends."
  • "My Perfect Mate and I express our love for each other freely and warmly."
  • "My Perfect Mate is supportive of me and helps me achieve my dreams."
The tendency is to stop once we get what we want. The problem with this is that eventually doubt and our old negative ways start to set in and we start to manifest problems in the relationship because we start distrusting our partner or the process that brought him/her to us. Replace doubt with faith and persistence. Master this and you have tapped into your own Divine Power.

The Scientific Background on Quantum Manifesting In A Nutshell

i'm sharing this from the Dream Manifesto site (click on the title of this post to get to their site)--

Buckminster Fuller once said that 99.9% of all science in the 20th century was invisible to our five senses. Does that make it less real?

We are in the middle of one of the biggest paradigm shifts mankind has ever encountered. We are seeing the end of Newton’s mechanical world-view, and it is being replaced by a new world-view that tells us we are nothing else than interconnected consciousness, and that matter is nothing more than a form of energy.

The Age of Newton’s Mechanical Clockwork
Newton’s ideas dictated our world-view for more than 200 years. He more or less declared that everything is mechanical and can be predicted like clockwork. Science was nothing else than the act of observing, which could be repeated by independent people all over the world.

In the late 19th century science entered into the area of sub-atomics, which changed everything; because scientists discovered that the sub-atomic particles were not particles at all. They looked like particles when they were measured, but they traveled like waves.

Quantum theory has changed everything, because what was a mechanical, external universe, has now become a web of intelligence. Science finally admits that the simple act of observing changes the result of any experiment, as well as that the observer and the observed are not separate.

What follows from this new understanding is a completely new way of how we have to deal with the world we perceive. Our old model of an objective world view has to be replaced with a new model that states that everything is subjective, as the observer influences the observed.

The Quantum Paradox – The Wave/Particle Duality
Wave-Particle Duality is perhaps the most notable concept of the quantum world; and by extension, it is also the philosophical basis of modern thought. It is the defining characteristic of elementary physical entities, such as electrons, protons, neutrons, atoms, and molecules, which exist on the one hand in states which evolve like waves when they are not observed, and evolve like particles when observed.

The key is the observation. In its wave-like state, the physical entity is typically extended in space, but then contracts abruptly to localized events or point-like particles when an observation is made.

When unobserved, physical quantum systems evolve in wave-like states that only represent tendencies for actual events. On the other hand, when an observation is made, the wave-like state changes abruptly, discontinuously, and unpredictably, in a “quantum jump.” At the macro level, the process is seemingly ruled by chance alone, and thus there is the potential for a true choice being made.

Perception And Reality from a Quantum Viewpoint
All that we see, hear, taste, touch, smell, and feel has been created from the data received by our sensory organs. All we ever know of the world around us are the mental images constructed from that data.

However real and external they may seem, they are all phenomena within the mind. This simple fact is very hard to grasp; it goes against all our experience. If there is anything about which we feel sure, it is that the world we experience is real. We can see, touch, and hear it. It seems undeniable that out there, around us, independent and apart from us, stands a physical world, utterly real, solid, and tangible.

But the world of our experience is no more “out there” than are our dreams. When we dream we create a reality in which events happen around us, and in which we perceive other people as individuals separate from us. In the dream it all seems very real. But when we awaken we realize that everything in the dream was actually a creation of our own mind.

The same process of reality-generation occurs in waking consciousness. The difference is that now the reality that is created is based on sensory data, and bears a closer relationship to what is taking place in the real world. Nevertheless, however real it may seem, it is not actually “the real world.” It is still an image of that world created in the mind.

The Fabric of Reality – Enter the Age of Conscious Science
The current super paradigm assumes that space, time, and matter constitute the basic framework of reality, and consciousness somehow arises from this reality. The truth, it now appears, is the very opposite. As far as the reality we experience is concerned - and this, remember, is the only reality we ever know - consciousness is primary.

Time, space, and matter are secondary; they are aspects of the image of reality manifesting in the mind. They exist within consciousness; not the other way around.

If we consider the reality we experience, then we have to accept that in the final analysis they are correct: Consciousness is the essence of everything - everything in the known universe. It is the medium from which every aspect of our experience manifests. Every form and quality we ever experience in the world is an appearance within consciousness.

What is the Process of Manifestation within the Mind?
How is it that consciousness, which seems so non-material, can take on the material forms that we experience? How do space, time, color, sound, texture, substance, and the many other qualities that we associate with the material world, emerge in consciousness?

Whatever we may be conscious of, the faculty of consciousness is something we all share. This consciousness is the one truth we cannot deny. It is the absolute certainty of our existence. It is eternal in that it is always there, whatever the contents of our experience. It is the essence of everything we know. And, since every aspect of our experience is a manifestation in the mind, it is the creator of the world we know.

These qualities - truth, absolute, eternal, essence, creator - are amongst those traditionally associated with God. From this perspective, the statement “I am God” is not so puzzling or deluded after all. Although it might be more accurate to say that “I am” is God, or possibly, “God is consciousness.”

Using the Tools of your Mind to Create Reality
Your attention is the source of the creative process for turning your thoughts into reality. Using your intention builds a constant energy toward the reality you want to create. Your body will follow your mind’s commands, and advance along the way until the desired reality is created.

Some of the explanations are contributed by Peter Russell taken from his book “From Science to God”.

When in Doubt On Whether To Stay or To Go

from The Creative Manifesting free newsletter i subscribe to:

Quick Manifesting Morsels with Anisa Aven:

Q: I love your site and your devotion to helping others manifest their dreams! I always get so excited when I get your newsletter because I know it will have some helpful hint I need that day!! I have a question about the law of attraction and manifesting. I find that I can easily manifest things I do not have a strong attachment to, but when it comes to big things, like relationships, I am not so lucky.

For years I have been hanging onto a relationship with a guy I believe to be my soul mate, only it has been a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings, some good and some bad. It is heartbreaking to me because I feel like I have all the tools to create the beautiful, romantic soul mate relationship I desire with this person but I can't seem to get it right. I know I cannot control his feelings but am I wrong to think that the law of attraction can help this situation? I know I should just focus on the relationship I desire instead of the face it comes with, but I feel so strongly attached to this person and want to experience the love I desire with him. Any insight you have would be so much appreciated. Thanks for all you do!

- Erin

A: Thank you for your kind words, Erin.

When we focus on what we want, what we desire, we send forth an energetic signal that is creative. However, that signal is not vibrationally aligned with what we say we want but instead it is aligned with 'the longing' for what we want. Desire is a descending emotion filled with longing, an intense wish for something that we feel separate from.

It's the experience of separation that prevents us from intentionally creating. As long as we feel separate from the essence of our desire, we vibrate in opposition to it.

"You can't have what you want." - God, in A Conversation with God by Neale Donald Walsch

You have to change your 'wanting' to 'accepting'.

The 'trick' to re-creating a relationship is to be willing to never have that relationship be that which you say you want. (emphases mine.) Instead you must be willing to focus on the experience of love and fulfillment that is the essence of your true desire.

This translates to sheer willingness to accept whatever is, as exactly what's meant to be. It means being willing to let this relationship go; and to be willing to accept it exactly as it is, as perfect in and of itself, even if it never changes.

From this willingness, your thoughts soften and a greater sense of tranquility will prevail. Within this state of mind lies the energetic framework required to inspire and attract the real relationship you want, the essence of your real desire.

The framework I'm referring to is an intention to unconditionally love and accept your partner exactly as they are, filled with the wonder of life as one of God's perfect Divine souls.

For as you send forth real love and light, you free their inner being to return the love.

From the 72 Names of God, by Yehuda Berg:

"You must offer unconditional love and true light to your friends and even those you see as enemies if you want to receive peace and serenity in your own life. You must see the soul of the other person and connect to it.

the key to this Universal law is the offering of true light and unconditional kindness. The reason is, unconditional love and authentic light immediately penetrate the soul of the other party, awakening love and light in return."

Now, you'll notice that I used the word 'trick' above because that's exactly what you're doing. You are tricking your thoughts into a place of greater vibrational illumination.

Of course, there are times when it's simply more comfortable to move away from what is than to re-create it. Re-creating a relationship, a job, or a health issue, for example, when we are steeped in the diagnosis of 'the way that it is' requires a great deal of courage, attention, intention, time, and faith.

I won't say that I haven't taken the easier road at times because I have. When my children's doctor didn't believe in naturopathic options, I didn't try to 're-create' that relationship; I didn't use the law of attraction to inspire him to come around.

In this situation the path of least resistance was simply finding a doctor that was more aligned with my family's beliefs.

Long standing relationships will be more challenging to re-create because of their 'story'; because the relationship has so much history and evidence to prove it is the way it is.

My current relationship is the best I've ever had. I feel madly in love, cherished, cared for, and passionate about our future. When he's away, I can't wait for him to get home.

My brother borrowed him for two weekends in a row to help build a storage shed. (Unfortunately, people are always borrowing my honey because he's pretty crafty with a hammer.) By the 2nd weekend, I was a little pest calling them both and whining, "When are you going to be done? What about me?!?!"

My brother said, "I didn't know you were that needy!?!" I just giggled because the truth is I'm the furthest thing from needy but I did miss my honey! This is a very fresh and very good feeling.

It wasn't always this way, however. My honey and I have a history of power struggles. At one point I threw up my hands and said, "I'm done! I just don't want this anymore."

This was the precise moment when I was able to re-create the relationship. To tell you the truth, I thought at the time I'd have to let him go. I thought it would be easier to start over than to re-create this one. And, I was willing.

However, I focused on willingness, acceptance, love, and hope instead.

Then, as if by magic, the relationship turned into the most special love of my life.

Another point I'd like to briefly discuss is one's attachment to the 'idea' about how a relationship should look. Recently a friend emailed that her partner said, "I'm just not good at relationships and marriage just doesn't suit me."

She wants marriage and he doesn't. When resistance to the relationship comes in the form of resistance to the 'structure' of the relationship, you will want to consider whether it's the 'form' or the 'love' that is the most important.

It's okay to want marriage and if your partner doesn't want that, you may have to let them go. Or, you may find that it's easier and more aligned with what you want to let go of the 'form' and love the relationship and your mate exactly as they are. Remember, millions of couples are happily (and permanently) coupled without the 'form' of marriage.

If you want to re-create a relationship, inspire it to be all that you desire, you must start with that willingness that I mentioned above. Then send forth such a great deal of unconditional love and acceptance that the light from your heart transforms the situation.

At some point there will be a fork in the road; an opportunity to stay because it's obvious that you can use the power of love to support the relationship you want or an opportunity to let it go. In spite of your love for your mate, it will become obvious that it would be easier to accept them as they are and let them go than to change them (and your thoughts about them).

Your intentional unconditional love and acceptance will either inspire the relationship to new heights of adoration or you will become acutely aware of the relationship's incapacity to give anymore than it's already giving.

At this point, you won't be able to judge them for being the way they are. Instead, you will honor the Divine within them and trust that the Universal spirit is guiding you to a better relationship once you let this one go.

Either way, you will experience a peaceful resolve first. This will be your cue that you are indeed aligned with the wonderful love you desire.

Money will always flow into whatever you have created in your life to receive it!

i am taking another break from working on my project paper, and i pick up where i left off in my reading of Shakti Gawain's Living in the Light. i come to this chapter on "Money" and this line hits me like a huge universal (welcome) bop on the head, i can still see the stars exploding--

"Money will always flow into whatever you have created in your life to receive it."

***

no wonder when we "save for a rainy day", the rainy day comes! when we set aside amounts in our budget for medical/hospital bills, the medical/hospital expenses come!!! : O omigod. i am only seeing it clearly for the first time now.

i have long experience with almost a perpetual lack of money, and only very new experience with abundance now, but what i can relate to most was in the early years of my struggling to get the children and i out of the debts from the marriage, and to get back on our feet again, it would happen time and again that whatever extra money i earned or received (this was already during the phase where i consciously focused on abundance, not lack, always thanking for my blessings and staying in gratitude, so money always came in somehow), i would only be able to enjoy the joyous feeling for a day, at most, and then something would break down at home, some needed repairs, some new emergencies, etc., would crop up that would entail my using the new money for those.

knowing this principle now, i understand: i did not create anything new to receive the new money coming into my life, so they got channeled to whatever was there--our needs-- and since our previous needs were already met, the energy of the new money created the energy of the new needs (repairs, emergencies, etc.)!!!

ohhh, wowww.

this is interesting validation of what i've been experiencing lately, too, you see.

since november when i've updated the house mortgage arrears, i've somehow left the monthly payments slip again, because the amount i've budgeted for the monthly payments somehow get eaten up by new needs coming up every month.

well, last month, as i saw the monthly arrears piling up again, i resolved to get a grip on my self and focus on erasing that buildup again. so to help me along, i created a separate envelope and marked it "for paying off house monthly mortgage payments", and set aside an initial seed amount there covering two months (the mortgage company doesn't accept partial updating now), and placed the envelope in the bottom drawer of my dresser, so that i will not touch that money anymore (i used to just place all my money in my wallet).

well, what do you know? i noticed that since i did that, i was asked to do extra work, services, etc. which paid me additional income here and there, and which helped me now to add to the amount in the envelope, so much so that i can see my self fully updating the mortgage again by next month, at the latest!

and now, i read about this principle! (the only other principle explained in the chapter was: money is just a symbol of universal creative energies, and since universal creative energies are limitless, money can be limitless; we don't have to compete, work our lives off doing work we didn't love to do, etc. the solution is to get in the flow, do what you love, do what builds your energies up, and the money will just follow.)

***

so, i've just finished creating 3 more envelopes now (creating the receptacles to receive : >)--

one, marked "Additional Income/Wealth";
two, marked "Disneyworld Christmas and New Year with the kids (and M!)" : ); and
three, marked "House and Home Improvement and Beautification" (including a move to our dream home at Ayala North Point, or elsewhere better :>)

-- deliberately creating positive receptacles for money to flow in now, instead of just creating them by default (not creating at all, so new money flows into newly created needs) or negatively ("rainy days").

i'll update here on what happens with this new experiment of mine. : )

obviously, i am excited. like a kid on her new bike--

look ma, no hands! :D
